Back to 2020, when I was working at This Is Rice studio, Joshua came to me and asked if I was interested in working on Rooster Beers documentation project. This project had been done by Joshua and Mark before I joined the studio. I was impressed and quickly said “yes”. Joshua’s idea was to experiment with different approach from what they normally do which was 3D, my expertise at the studio in order to see how they could apply 3D in their works. I can tell it was the first time doing a documentation to showcase the work.
The concept was Joshua wanted to see Rooster Beers products would look like in 3D rather than shooting them with photography. Second thing he wanted was if they were distributed in-store at the supermarket (on the selves) with some carton papers.
Since it was the first time we work together, I suggested let’s first create the 3D models so that we could agree on the appearance of Rooster Beers products in 3D environment. Then, we would see how we could set a scene up.

Together with 3D visualization task for Rooster Beers products, I was also assigned to create animation for their website mockup both desktop and mobile version. It was not an easy job since I would like to replicate the common web-surfing behaviour of users. Also, it took quite a time to prepare materials in Illustrator for using in After Effect.

After having the 3D models of Rooster Beers products, I tried to play with them a bit with some clone effects inside Cinema4D just to feel a little bit more.
I wondered if we wanted to put all products together in one shot, how would they be?
Atter few rounds of feedbacks, we were able to finish this documentation which was a mix of graphic, animation, 3D and photography.For self-treatment, to document this project on this portfolio webiste, I would like to try something different with the original work for This Is Rice. I imagine the Rooster Beers products placed on a weird design sofa in a dark room, where there is only a light from a standing lamp in the middle of the room.

For me, this project has opened a door of potential projects later. I offcially am able to do packaging visualization project together with my love one, who is a design producer. And of course, this ability allow me to play a lot in branding specifically.Thanks.
