WALK ALONE WITH EMPTY MIND.

The monk

As riding my wifey to work has been my daily task recently, I think that would be nice to try walking around the city to study more about photography. Different from my last paths which I need to sitting in front of a computer or in a meeting room, this photography experience encourages me to walk more, to see things by real eyes more than I’ve ever done. For the first time doing this activity, it was quite hard at the beginning since I didn't know what to do because the possibilty was massive and open.

Some fotos on Hai Ba Trung street

Starting from her workplace, Behalf Studio, on Vo Thi Sau street; I parked our scooter at her office then took a walk to Tan Dinh market. Not much fotos were taken cause I still figured out the “feeling to capture", which is an essential part in street fotografia. But, I decided to try with shooting at pretty low shutter speed technique. It was hard without a tripod I would say. Most of the fotos I took were out of focus.

Some fotos at a famous local landscape - Central Post Office

It was quite strange with the feeling of taking fotos of the place where I’ve lived for 37 years. When I was in Dalat for the proposal, every fotos was just naturally captured, quicker and easier than this time. It was hard for me to decide what to capture or even hard to listen to my feeling on what it want.

Some geometry shots

With that strange feeling I continued to walk around quite far from her office, taking lots of fotos, but, most of them, I was not happy at all. However, I understood the idea of this activity was to take whatever on the street for better understanding of my camera.

I think I love this shot the most.

For “The monk” foto, the shutter speed was right enough to capture every raindrops together with the monk totally in focus. It was a quick shot because of the sudden rain. I saw the monk was considering to keep walking on his bare feet or to wait for the rain to stop. But, I was impressed with his eyes, a calm lake. I thought the whole trip was for that moment.

Some shots on the way back to her office

I arrived at the coffee near her workplace. While waiting for her, I tried a new filter - Black diffusion 1/4. I heard that with it equipped, we could capture softlights from neon lights, I wanted to try it.

Some shots before it started to rain

Some interior shots of Everyhalf cafe

Thanks.
